Kenneth “KB” Bowe is creator and owner of Chat ‘N’ Chill, Stocking Island’s International Playground. KB, a University of Chicago B-School alum and ex-banker turned beach bum, claims “my life is a beach-because I live on a beach and work on a beach”. This native Exumian demonstrated his family legacy of investing in Exuma through land ownership and development by returning to Exuma, and contributed his worldly experience and education to grow and develop his island home community. His vision drove him to purchase land on Stocking Island in 1980 and later create Chat ‘N’ Chill in 1998, which quickly became a natural gathering place where cruisers, power boaters, locals, winter residents and visitors (tourists) could meet, socialize, kick back and just relax in an “upscale-yet still casual” atmosphere.

KB is married to Kwanza Clay Bowe, a Certified Wedding Specialist and Certified Travel Counselor. Together they have expanded Chat ‘N’ Chill to offer tours, weddings, corporate & special events. KB and Kwanza are remain forever committed to the goal of providing each guest to Chat
‘N Chill with quality native cuisine and a memorable Out Island experience. They are enthusiastic supporters of their community through their involvement and sponsorship of local events: The Family Island Regatta and Bahamian Music & Heritage Festival, as well as various fundraising efforts and contributions.  KB and Kwanza live on Great Exuma Island with their son and daughter.  KB has three adult children, twin sons, Darron and Dr. Dane who live in Nassau and a daughter, Krysti who attends university in Canada.

Some say he found a goldmine in Chat ‘N’ Chill. KB says “There is plenty of opportunity out there, you just got to know where to look and have the ability to see and create it. While some of it is gut/instinct.  I just didn’t stumble upon a goldmine. I built Chat ‘N’ Chill with my own hands, some days starting out at 3 o’clock in the morning. I created it from nothing and I continue to mine the gold by minding my business everyday.”
