Our Story
Back when bell bottoms were cool, Kenneth “KB” Bowe walked off the University of Chicago graduation stage with his MBA and straight into the cutthroat world of corporate finance. Eventually though, he got sick of that high-stress, high-rise and pavement lifestyle, and hungered to return to his island roots.
You can take the boy off the island, but you can’t take the island out of the boy.
With his own hands and the help of a close friend, KB built Chat ‘N’ Chill® on 9 acres of pristine tropical paradise in 1998. Back then, Exuma was not the world-renowned destination it is today. Exuma and Stocking Island were more for people who lived on their boats and traveled around for all year (some people just have their priorities straight, right?).

So KB created Chat ‘N’ Chill® as a day camp for boaters. Great food, chill atmosphere, a place to play volleyball with friends and attend church on Sundays, all without needing a car or a taxi. It was the ultimate laid-back, bare-feet beach bar for real beach bums.
As Exuma’s popularity grew, so did Chat ‘N’ Chill®’s reputation. Today, you’ll hear languages from all over the world as our salt-encrusted international clientele hang out and chill over some conch salad and island drinks at our bar.
Our little beach bar got famous, but we didn’t lose sight of our roots. Chat ‘N’ Chill® is pretty much the same now as when we catered only to the local boating crowd, and that’s probably why people love it so much. When you want a taste of true island life, chilling out with us is where you find it.

We always have a great time at Chat N Chill, its just fun hanging out there and is a great spot for photographs. We rented a boat from Minns to get there but the water taxis are an easy and fairly inexpensive way to get there too.
